That’s a good question, and one that requires an answer (or several) before you choose the ideal space for you to work in. We all want different things from our working environment. Some may want a space they can call their own, while still getting access to lots of social spaces to make it easier to meet others, too.
But there are some questions you should think about prior to finding a shared office space to use. Let’s review them here.
How do you work?
Are you the type of person who does their best work in a bustling environment, with lots of people around you? If so, a desk in a large shared environment will tick this box. Conversely, if you work better when you are in your own bubble, a private office will be the ideal solution.
If you love some variety in every workday, maybe a hot desk option would be preferable to a dedicated desk. However, do consider what you will need to bring into work each day. You won’t want to cart lots of things around if you tend to need a lot of equipment and paperwork.
Do you need access to other practical office services on-site?
This might include printing services, conference rooms, or a private space to use for making confidential phone calls. Make a list of the essential services you would like to have from your shared office space, and you can then ensure nothing is missed when you’re looking for the ideal spot to work in.
This is one of the most important elements of all. Think about how you get to work each day. Do you drive? Do you cycle? Do you like to walk or take the Tube? There are serviced offices across London and beyond, but some have greater numbers of transport options than others. Obviously, you’ll want to find somewhere as close as possible to where you live, but you also want to have an easy work journey.
So, while considering the facilities provided inside a serviced office space, make sure you consider the location, too. This is one of the most important elements to bear in mind. Get it right, and you’ll enjoy a great journey to work with the minimum of hassle. And isn’t that what we all want from our commute into the office each day?
